Trauma and Transformation 101

Service Description

A four-week workshop on trauma, resilience, and how to identify and build your protective resources. * Learn a simple definition of trauma and how prolonged stress can affect our physical, mental and emotional wellbeing. * Learn about post-traumatic growth and resilience, and why you always have access to them. * Learn how to identify and strengthen your protective resources, and how your own resources can support healing and prevent future traumas. * Understand your nervous system states and learn very simple techniques for shifting from a reactive state to a receptive state. * Engage in self-reflective activities that explore the origins of trauma, how to identify and strengthen your protective resources, and how our human tendency to create meaning can be both self-sabotaging and self-empowering. * Learn from the experiences and insights of other participants, and help build a community that is removing shame and embracing genuine expression The series is intentionally designed to be a space for facilitated peer-support. We know that our training as facilitators provided us with knowledge about trauma and resilience and prepared us to create a safe and supportive space to talk about challenging things. We also know that there is deep value in the experiences, insights, and knowledge of all our course participants that benefits everyone. To honor this, the classes are designed to include learning, discussion, movement, self-reflection activities, and opportunities for peer sharing and support. The four-week course tuition is $35-$95 sliding scale. Those who complete the 101 series can continue in Trauma and Transformation 201 and 301 for deepened explorations and skillbuilding in trauma, resilience, emotional self-regulation, and building protective resources.
